Christmas Day Success.
A huge thank you to all who supported our 2016 Christmas Day X51 bus service, between Morley, Leeds and the hospitals.
The Morley Observer published our timetable and added a great write up on the service before the day, with an article on the web page for the newspaper to complement the story at http://www.morleyobserver.co.uk/news/black-prince-buses-back-on-the-road-for-christmas-day-1-8291226 and we had coverage on the television, with thanks to "On The Aire", the news program on the Made in Leeds tv channel. BBC Radio Leeds were also able to offer some coverage, via an interview live on air on Christmas Eve.
The weather was much kinder to us this year, with a generally dry day and no flooding, but passenger numbers carried proved to be lower than last year.
Nonetheless, we saw around 60 passengers during the day, many of whom could not get around had it not been for our free bus service.
It gives a great sense of pride to be able to use our preserved buses to help people get around when no other transport is available and we hope to repeat the X51 service again next Christmas day.
Many thanks to the bus crews for giving up time during the the day, myself, Joseph Makepeace and Scott Tobin doing the driving.
